Bad Gastein is located 1000 meters (3280 feet) above sea level, right in the heart of Europe in the countryside of Salzburg, Austria and can easily and comfortably be reached by the freeway or the federal highway.

The “Tauernschleuse” is an additional connection in the direction of Kärnten and Italy. Venice can be reached in about 3 hours.

The airports of Salzburg and Klagenfurt, served by many low cost carriers, are approximately 1 to 1,5 hours away by train or car. Munich Airport can be reached in about 2,5h.

Bad Gastein is situated along one of the most important European north-south-connecting railway lines. Therefore it is possible to easily travel for example from Hamburg via Bad Gastein to Naples or Zagreb.
